Spinology is a philosophy and practice which seeks to keep the bones of the spine in their proper relationships with each other, in order to allow the body to express its maximum potential. Although science has advanced during the last 40 years, the insert below reflects and encompasses what I stand for.
Paul, who is now totally blind, qualified as a Spinologist in 1982 at the Philadelphia Spinal Tutorium, under the founder and guidance of the late Dr Reggie Gold. Paul is the last practising Spinologist from that era in South Africa.
How does a Spinologist correct these spinal obtrusions?
To be absolutely accurate, we must point out that a Spinologist does not really correct the obtrusions. The body has its own spinal muscles to do that. Unfortunately, sometimes the obtrusion interferes with the nerve impulses to the very muscle that should be correcting the obtrusion. When this happens, the muscles are too weak to complete their job and a Spinologist thrusts gently upon the spine to supply the little extra "muscle/energy" that the body needs to complete its job.
Is Spinology safe?
Yes, Spinologists are skilled professionals, meticulously trained in resident programme. They undergo certification by the World Council of Spinologists.
What causes spinal obtrusions?
Almost any fall, accident, emotional/physical stress, poor posture and a host of other life events can contribute to spinal obtrusions. In fact, almost everyone gets obtrusions at some point or other, including children. Unless these obtrusions are corrected, we spend our entire life being less than we could be, in terms of one’s potential.
